Helped some friends take down a couple of walls yesterday. I woke up feeling some parts of my body I didn’t know I had.
At some point in your life, you’ll buy a nice chair for yourself, but then every time you want to sit in it, you see this.
Started watching "Keuringsdienst van Waarde", a Dutch show on NPO. I learnt that in Canada, for Merino wool, they:
a) Cut off the skin on the sheep's behind, to prevent them from being eaten alive by flies because their feces will get stuck in the wool.. It's called Mulesing.
And b) It's our own fault because we're breeding them with lots and lots of skin flaps (more wool per sheep!), causing these unsanitary conditions in the first place.
Money really corrupts.
Doing a fairly large print today. It's a fruit washer, as per the wife's request. It'll take nearly 21 hours to complete, as it'll be switching between PLA/PETG throughout the print for easier support removal later on.
I've been running my own email server for several months and am very pleased with its stability and speed.
However, I'm annoyed by the numerous crypto-related spam emails that bypass rspamd every day.
I have trained the Bayes filter with a few thousand spam and ham messages, including all the crypto emails I've kept, in hopes of improving detection.
Overslept and missed my run this morning. Early start, so I can have a second chance after work.
Runners with Imposter Syndrome figuring out their Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE):
Body: “You almost died!”
Mind: “You did complete it, so how hard could it be..”
I have 2 U7 Pro devices, broadcasting one single IoT SSID, connected to a VLAN on a separate network.
The goal is to have all IoT clients completely isolated from each other. I've already created firewall rules, but since traffic IoT <-> IoT is handled at L2, it never touches the firewall. Client isolation is active, but only works for clients connected to the same AP.
The remaining issue here is traffic between clients NOT on the same AP.
Any ideas?
Grabbed this picture during my morning run. I really love this time of year, with such great colors.
Very busy weeks currently. Filled with lots of great stuff, but I find myself longing for a bit of piece and quiet. Time to actively manage my downtime until the holiday season.
A short clip taken from our last vacation in Austria. I can't begin to describe how incredible this feeling is.
3D-printed a clock for the toddler, so she can tell when it’s time for certain activities. Pretty happy about the result.
The cluster just updated Mastodon to the latest v4.4.8 by itself with new security patches.
The update installed automatically without any downtime.
After dealing with all the moving parts and the complexity involved, I have to say, DevOps is pretty cool.
