While the foundation of toot.community's infrastructure is rock-solid and can scale virtually unlimited; costs rise with this instance's popularity. While running on an R&D budget funded by my own business, I want to prepare for growth and sustainability, and if the community could support parts of it, that would be even better.
Please look at the linked Patreon page if you have anything to spare. You would be helping out tremendously. 🙏
The current costs are manageable, and regardless of the success of this campaign, this instance will remain. Donors will help me allocate more time to keeping this instance secure and providing a home for everyone interested in Mastodon.
I will ultimately design a system where our growth will organically slow down, as I think the #fediverse is best handled by numerous distinct instances to protect its decentralized nature.
Thank you for starting this adventure with me! 👊
