Oh Wordpress, how I've missed your funny ecosystem.

Cold as hell in The Netherlands this week.
Went for my morning run and had some chunks of ice in my beard when I got back.
Zero regrets, though. πͺπ₯Ά
I purchased two Garmin watch bands from Hamsut directly. They're shipping to The Netherlands for free, which is awesome.
I just received a shipping confirmation email, from once of their employees. It's clearly manually written, no automation whatsoever.
Very refreshing in an automated world.
I recently stumbled upon the /r/flashflight subreddit, while searching for a running light.
These guys are intense. And yet, there's a part of me that's intrigued.
But what do they do, look at stuff in the dark all day?
I always (wrongfully) assumed that removing remote media exempted accounts that were being followed by local accounts. It turns out it doesn't, and resulted in local users running into the rate-limited media proxy regularly.
I'm refreshing remote media now, and re-downloading media with a limit of 1 year.
I suppose I'll own a copy of the internet once it's done.
They argue that Bitcoin squanders computational power.
In my opinion, this also ranks quite high in terms of wasting computing resources.
It wrote a Python script, then spun up a virtualised environment to execute it, to show me the number of days that passed since a specific date.
Just had to look at some unsavoury stuff in the moderation panel. Please send me cute pictures of kittens and puppies for compensation.
Good morning everyone π
Cleaning up all the Christmas decorations is one of the finest moments of January.
It's been a really great experience overall. I've learned so much about handling Kubernetes on my own, figuring out CNI policies, and working with distributed storage systems. I love how the DevOps skills I pick up for toot.community make me better at my day job, and the stuff I learn there helps me manage this platform even more effectively.
I've just finished migrating toot.community to Hetzner. It's now operating on Talos Linux with a managed Kubernetes setup across several bare-metal servers.
Utilizing managed Kubernetes on VMs proved to be increasingly costly. While DigitalOcean's managed experience is great, a shift in strategy is needed to maintain financial stability due to the gradual decline in donations each month.
As always, it's a financial trade-off between being cared for, and taking care of.
Good morning everyone β π
First working day of the new year. Let's go π
Doing a proof of concept with Talos Linux for setting up a bare-metal #kubernetes cluster. Iβm really enjoying the process. Itβs a great product.
