- 429 GB data served n the last 24 hours
- Average 94 requests per second for the last 24 hours

Not to fuel the fire, but I'd allow advertising for other social media platforms.

This aged poorly.
"I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means."
This is your daily Mastodon security reminder to:
a) Go through your active session list and revoke every device that you're not using anymore (<instance>/auth/edit)
b) Set up Two-Factor authentication (<instance>/settings/two_factor_authentication_methods)
c) Revoke authorized applications that you're not using anymore (<instance>/oauth/authorized_applications)
d) Backup your account (<instance>)/settings/export)
Awesome. New day, a new data breach. As a tech person with many accounts scattered over the internet, getting emails from Have I Been Pwned happens regularly.
It doesn't match with most commercial incentives, but I think that websites should only store the smallest amount of data from their users.
It makes me feel uneasy that my phone number and home address are for sale on the darknet, despite my attempts to be mindful about what I share online.
Look at this guy being all content, laying on his Kickeroo after a 'nips fueled rage, just minutes earlier.
Can't help but think that the issue list on the Mastodon GitHub is a complete shitshow. 3,200 open issues right now. I reported a valid bug weeks ago and no response so far.
Seems like a no-brainer to have a couple of people do some basic triage.
Got something out of the way that's been bugging me for a while now: Mastodon for #tootcommunity is now running from a custom Helm chart allowing the spawning of new, uniform staging environments to test out (application) upgrades etcetera.
Time to level up being a #mastoadmin. No more upgrading stuff and hoping for the best.

My current project as a DevOps Engineer at Schiphol (Amsterdam) is ending in December and after long deliberation, I have decided not immediately follow up with searching for a new assignment.
The last two years have been absolutely crazy. For the first time since I'm a freelancer, I'm deliberately choosing to take a few months off and couldn't be happier about it. I'm really, really, looking forward to being bored again and regaining some mental sanity as a result.
Back on the road again tomorrow for clients tomorrow after four weeks of rest from the flu and knee surgery. Looking forward to being among colleagues again 👍
I've cleared the day to finish the #tootcommunity Kubernetes repository. Publication imminent. 🚀 :kubernetes:
Fourteen years ago I released my first piece of software to the world: SnapShot. Trivial now, but being able to capture a screenshot and share it on the web was a big deal back then. I even made it to those classic magazines that included interesting software on CD’s. It’s crazy to think people still use until this day. https://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Capture/Jorijn-Schrijvershof-SnapShot.shtml
1st of December toot: :christmasparrot:
I have enabled the Mastodon translation feature for #tootcommunity. When you're using the web interface, a "Translate" link should show below posts that aren't in your preferred language.
