@WTL Do you have a fixed distance in mind before you start? Or is part of the winging it including the distance? :-D
@mijndert Garmin tends to over- and under calculate routes by ~20% here, which leaves me with a big walk at the end of the workout. How is your experience?
Strava is fun to keep track of runs of friends that don't have Garmin, but other than that it doesn't hold any value for me. The free tier is just fine.
@teufen @rjayasinghe Oh! I thought Komoot didn't have any routes nearby (I'm from Oosterhout). It turns out you just need to zoom in a bit before more pop up. Thanks :-)
@elektrobier I have used this in the past, yes. It does tend to give me routes that are ~20% off the requested distance. I'm curious how dynamic routing on the new Garmin Fenix 8 will be. (I'm on a 7)
@Mr_GHARice This looks promising! Thank you. I just tried it out, but ran into an error message trying to generate a route. I'll try it again some time later. Perhaps they're having some issues :)
Question for the #running community: 🏃♂️
My Strava subscription is expiring soon, and I don't intend to renew it. The only thing I'll really miss is the ability to generate running routes for a given distance.
I'm looking for alternatives. How do you plan your routes? What tools, websites or apps do you use?
@mookie Perhaps I need to give it a new chance in a couple of years. I first watched it some months ago, and had a hard time reconciling the fact that the best rated SciFi movie ever, ..was so boring. 😅
@mookie is it worthwhile? I found it to be a hard movie to get through, and turned it off after thirty minutes.
@grechaw @SaschaFreud I feel that. You could try a slow speed week, with higher SPM to see if that gives your body the chance to recover?
