@FRYTG it’s an Alecto WS5500

Despite being injured, twice, I still ran 532km (330mi) in 2024. It's the first year I've started taking #running seriously. Let's see if we can double that in 2025.

Got a weather station from my wife for Christmas 🎁 Spent the morning geeking out with APIs, Grafana, and InfluxDB integrations. Even set up a static page with live data at https://weather.jorijn.com using WeeWX.

Not a full-on weather nerd (yet)🌦️, but streaming data like this is very fun to tinker with.

Merry Christmas! 🎄

“Carry-On” was a fun movie to watch.

Past the #KravMaga level test for the green-brown belt. Excuse the tired face, the exam took 4,5 hours. Next up: Brown, then black. :-)

@KevinGimbel @stfn is there a link to this setup?

I've been enjoying the peace and quiet that comes with the few days before Christmas. Next: Lots of fun stuff in the month ahead, family, friends, and a big motorcycle trip in the warm south of Spain.

Thought it would be fun to 3D-print a Moon object. Longest print to date: Almost two full days! Turned out awesome. :-)

@elektrobier thanks. I just realized that I ran the vo2max workout this morning before breakfast. It might've just been an issue with lack of fuel. Usually I run base runs around this time, so it's less of a problem.

I'll retry the next vo2max fueled up, and go from there. :-)

@elektrobier also, one month ago I was able to touch and maintain 191bpm for a few minutes, where my auto-detected max. is 197. It makes me wonder if the value is indeed correct-ish, and my performance on this specific workout was just sub-par due to underlying rest/health.

@elektrobier I've been wondering if my max. HR is calculated correctly: https://social.jorijn.com/@jorijn/statuses/01JEWT0E93RJSM8W8N5D175FAJ

My zones are set up using the LT value, but I suspect my LT values may be faulty due to an incorrect max. HR. Has auto-detected max. HR been accurate for you?

Just completed the suggested VO2Max workout; 4x4:00@188bpm. I had trouble reaching the suggested HR target. Anyone have some experience on this for these type of workouts? #running #garmin

@kev This is surprising. I thought you liked it? I'm curious about your findings :)

Today's workout: 4 x 4:00 @ 188bpm. I'm somewhat dreading this one.

@FRYTG I had my fair share of fights with colleagues about this.

@0xWDG ah, this makes sense :) thank you

Question for the #running community using a #Garmin watch:

The max. HR detection seems off for me. The detected value for me is a max. HR of 198. Looking at different formulas, the results are lower:

Inputted values:

  • Age = 34
  • Weight = 92

Formulas:

  • Sally Edwards = 210 - (0,5 x age) -(0,022 x weight) + 4 ‎ = 194,976
  • Regular 220 - age ‎ = 186
  • Winfried Spanaus = 223 - (0,9 x age) ‎ = 192,4
  • Regression = 208 - (0,7 x age) ‎ = 184,2

In your opinion, is the detected max. HR for your profile accurate?
