Every so often, I miss the nostalgic feeling of starting up this huge computer tower under your desk.
The physical button, the whooshing sound and the crunching noises as you would slowly progress into the operating system.

I'm a tech guy and really like the inner workings of #Bitcoin. From an architectural standpoint, it's fascinating to see how they've solved decentralized trust.
Then there are websites who work the “get rich” narrative and use the “it grew in the past, so it'll grow in the future”-argument to pry people out of their money.
To protect people, these markets should be regulated by law. Rather sooner than later.
I've seen too many stories of people losing their savings due to false promises.
After removing some unhealthy media and suspending the account, I made a hasty mistake correcting a CDN setting. Display of images was impacted for a couple of minutes. Sorry about that. 🙈

Today marks 40 days of me driving an electric car. I always repelled the idea of an EV and was happily chugging along in my gasoline car, boasting about filling it up in under a minute.
Then I discovered never needing to actually fill up for 99% of the time, as it's always charged and ready to go in the morning.
Game changer.
Perfect day for some DevOps stuff for #tootcommunity. 🤖
Rearranged the nodepool configuration to better utilize unused resources.
Moved the streaming services to a separate subdomain, so I could enable mutual-TLS authentication between Fastly and our upstream servers.
Added log ingestion (fluent-bit) and ElasticSearch to Renovate & ArgoCD for automated upgrades.
Happy with the results. Time to visit the inlaws now. ☀️ ☕
After learning more about their intentions and capabilities, I'm excited about federation with #threads.
Why?
When local users report content, it gets sent to their mod team as well, so they can deal with the author.
If local users misbehave, and someone over at Threads reports it, the local admin gets a copy, so they can hold that user to their local rules.
I get to follow my family and favorite bands on Threads from the comfort of my instance, without their content/sorting algorithm.
