I know I shouldn't care too much about these very vocal people, but I genuinely dislike conflict.
I find myself stuck in this loop where I have this urge to share my thoughts, hobbies and opinions online.
Then I just don't, because I'll probably offend some minority group and get dogpiled on.
In the end I just stay quiet.
It's a strange world we live in.
I'd like to bring the #tootcommunity relay under #mastoadmin attention again. It handles about half a million posts each day and some well known instances are connected to it.
We accept instances that are primarily English or Dutch and are moderated similar to our own instance.
It's invite-only, and if you think adding your instance would be beneficial, let me know so I can add you.
It's been a bit quiet on my end.
#tootcommunity is running on its own, little to no intervention needed. I've also been playing #destiny2 a lot since the new DLC and started a new job.
Very windy pier at the beach in Hoek van Holland, The Netherlands. Video was taken yesterday.
Running Time Machine backups over the network to a #synology NAS was just something I gave up on, since it was so slow, initial backups would never complete.
Now, with added SSD NVMe caching it's a game changer. It's actually usable now, initial backup (1.2TB) took about 24 hours and backups after that only 5-10 minutes.
A Kubernetes snippet I read today:
A huge bouncer appears from nowhere and shouts "OUT OF PIZZA KILLER (OOP KILL)". He delivers a powerful side-kick to one of the guests, knocking them to the floor.
Since I bought a new NAS, I’ve been playing around with #paperless-NGX. Very awesome software. It builds an OCR index of your documents.

Here’s a little Mastodon tip for people currently relocating servers:
Migrating your account brings over your followers to the new server, but it does not transfer who you’re following.
You can export this list of people in the settings panel on the old server, and import it on the new server. You’ll be following your favorite people again. 👍

Looks like Mastodon v4.1.0 is out. Got a bunch of stuff to do this weekend so I’ll upgrade somewhere Monday/Tuesday. No downtime expected.
