#stryd

Ran my first half-marathon yesterday: 2:03:33.

The first 17km felt controlled. Power on target, everything according to plan. Then km 18 happened, and the plan left the chat.

Lost 75 seconds per km over the final 4km. The post-race data analysis was clear: turns out I was running on half the fuel I needed (49g carbs/hour instead of 80+) while holding a power target (303W of CP 325W) that was too ambitious for the duration.

Lessons were learned here.

Here's a first: Training effect of "Recovery" for this mornings run. #Garmin's DSW, or any other training program always had doing recovery runs at a higher pace or heart rate. They always end up being labeled as "Base" run.

I've started a training plan from #Stryd today. Felt nice. It takes a bit of getting used to #running on a Power metric, but it's a lot more stable than pace (GPS issues) or HR (is lagging).

Glad is was dark outside though, it was embarrassingly slow. 8:05/km. 😂

The webinar about power based #running was interesting for sure. Ordered a #Stryd as a result.

Going to see a webinar tonight given by ProRun.nl about #running on power using the #Stryd.

Curious about this one. I've been struggling for a while now how to keep progressing without overloading myself to the point of more knee pain.
