Happy New Year everyone. 🎇
This is a typical night for me.
The highlighted part is wat Garmin calls "Stress". Since about 10-15% of the consumed caffeine in the morning still lives in the blood during the early stages of the night, I'm really curious what this could bring. I agree that there's still a lot of room of improvement here.
I should also snack less later in the evening. :-)
@jjtuinstra Yes! My sleep is already fine. I'm also curious what it'll do to my resting heart rate (now ~50).
@jjtuinstra the science is messy, I haven't been able to find anything conclusive. You can find articles backing up the claims that it's harmless, but you can find articles highlighting health risks too.
Personally, I don't feel great on coffee. Sure, I like the feeling of being "on" and energized, but there's always this undertone of feeling rushed.
Biggest thing is that I really dislike, is being dependent on it. I feel stressed about not drinking coffee, and then I feel stressed after drinking coffee. It's a funny cycle.
Just drank my last cup of coffee. I'm not looking forward to the withdrawal, but I am for the health & sleep benefits.

Going to take out the slowcooker today for some delicious stew meat tonight for New Year's eve celebrations. The house will smell amazing for the next 9 hours.
First day back at work since the holidays. Excited for it, as I really like my job.
@mahryekuh Thanks! I'm no stranger to the withdrawal effects. I've done it before, but eventually turned back to coffee after two months.
The weird part: I liked myself when off of caffeine, more. But I missed the feeling of being "on".
Feel free to check in with me throughout the year to see if I’m sticking to it. It'll keep me accountable.
New Year’s resolution: No alcohol or caffeine for the entire year.
Neither makes me feel great, yet I keep coming back to them. I’ve quit for short stretches before, but never beyond a couple of weeks. Time to do a hard thing, and break the cycle.
